First Birthday Party Guide

1st Birthday Party Planning

This is a memorable moment that you won't want to forget. So careful and timely planning is a MUST so you can enjoy every minute of your child's First Birthday. Three weeks prior to Birthday: You will want to choose your theme, pick out your invitations and have an idea of where you want the party held at. Make sure you mail out your invitations at least 2 weeks prior so your guests are sure to be able to attend. One week prior to Birthday: If you are ordering your decorations online be sure you have this done, or make a list of what you are looking for and find the nearest party supply store nearby and pick up what you need. Get your camera, batteries and film if needed. Make a separate list for the food, paper goods and any misc items needed. 5 days prior to Birthday: Pick up the items you made a list for, food, drinks and etc. and cross every item off at time of purchase, Prepare any foods that can be frozen before the party. If you were planning an activity or game for the Birthday then now is the time to make sure you have everything that is needed and write down how each game or activity is going to be played. *If you haven't bought a gift for the Birthday boy/girl this would be a good time to purchase.. 1 day prior to Birthday: Start to defrost any of the frozen food you prepared earlier. Start pulling out the decorations and set up anything that you can now (this will help things out so much when you get ready for everything else tomorrow). Make any other side items that can be refrigerated a day before. Pick up the Birthday Cake! BIRTHDAY DAY: Cook and put out the rest of food and set up the last of the decorations. Pull out your games or activities and keep them close by. Make sure you have the camera and/or video recorder nearby as well. Next, relax and enjoy your little bundle of joy's special day!!
